Download SideCore on the Mac App Store.

How much does SideCore cost?

SideCore is free to download on the Mac App Store. SideCore Pro is a one-time in-app purchase (currently $0.99 in the United States). It permanently removes the 10-note limit. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal.

Prices in other countries are set by Apple and may differ from the U.S. price.

What are the free tier limits?

On the free tier, every feature type is available. The only usage limit is:

  • Up to 10 notes (delete a note to create another when at the limit)
  • Unlimited groups, ebook notes, AI uses with your own API key, external folders, and pinned notes

When you reach the note limit, SideCore asks if you want to upgrade to Pro. Your existing notes remain on your Mac and can still be read and exported.

How do I upgrade to SideCore Pro?

Open SideCore → Settings (Control + Z) → General → SideCore Pro → tap Upgrade.

Complete the purchase with your Apple ID. After purchase, the note limit is removed immediately.

How do I restore purchases?

Open Settings → General → SideCore Pro and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID you used to buy SideCore Pro.

Restoring does not charge you again. It re-applies Pro on a new Mac or after reinstalling the app.

I paid for SideCore before it became free. Do I need to buy again?

No. If you purchased SideCore on the Mac App Store before the app switched to free download + SideCore Pro, the app should recognize your original purchase and grant SideCore Pro automatically — no second charge.

If Pro does not unlock after updating, try Restore Purchases in Settings. If it still does not work, email jqlong@me.com with the Apple ID you used to purchase SideCore.

AI features and API keys

SideCore’s AI features require you to configure your own OpenAI-compatible Base URL, model name, and API key in Settings → AI.

AI requests are sent directly from your Mac to the provider you choose. SideCore does not host your notes or API key on its own servers. The free tier does not limit AI request count; API usage billed by your provider is separate.

New to API configuration? Follow the step-by-step AI and integrations setup guide.

Where are my notes stored?

Notes and preferences are stored locally on your Mac. SideCore does not require an account and does not sync your notes to a SideCore server.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple. For refund requests, use reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.
